Girls Weekend

I had the opportunity to have a girls weekend with 5 friends. We went to my friends family farm house in Firth, Idaho. I was beautiful. We laughed, ate delicious food, worked on our craft projects and listened to General Conference. I took several pictures of the different elements that caught my eye. It kind of felt like a dream. It was so peaceful.

I really enjoyed playing with my camera and figuring out how to use all of its features.

We ate a lot of fresh peaches.

I just love the different textures and colors. Every morning I would wake up around 7:00 am and go outside and sit on a bench and listen to the sounds outside and watch the stray cats.

I even got a few projects finished.

This was my first time being away from Zoe overnight. I was so nervous for days. Levi did an amazing job taking care of her and we all survived.

Crafts, Crafts and More Crafts

I love to make things. Every summer I try to make a few things while I am off from work. This year has been a little more difficult to start, work on or complete projects since I have a little one to take care of. Luckily, I have an amazing niece, Heather, who comes over pretty much everyday and plays with Zoe so I can clean, organize and craft. When Heather is not here, this is how we manage.
I zip Zoe in my jacket and we get to work. Zoe loves watching me push buttons. She eventually falls asleep.

When we moved into our new house I hated our bedroom decor (or lack of decor). It has taken 3 years to get to this point, but it is definitely an improvement.

I made these cute pillow shams. I also made the throw blanket. I hope to add paint, crown modeling and curtains.

I made this cute purse. To give you an idea of how big it is a 3 month old baby can fit in it comfortably.

Of course, I had to make a dress or Zoe and I finally finished the skirt below.

I finished a queen size quilt top for Zoe's room, but forgot to take pictures before I sent it to Grandma's to get hand quilted.

My goal is to finish my dress, another dress for Zoe and maybe 2 quilts. I only have 2 weeks before I go back to work, so I better get cracking.

This one is for Cheri

Cheri is a good friend and neighbor who reminds me often that I need to be updating my blog by showing my projects. I must say I have been slacking and feeling unmotivated to update my blog because I do not have much to say. So here is what I have been up to lately.
I forgot my sister's birthday (I know I am terrible sister). To make up for it, I made her this quilt for her baby's crib. She had all the bedding minus the quilt. This was made clear back in September.
This is a picture of my nephew Croy in his crib with his blanket.
My mom was so kind to buy us our first major purchase for our future baby. We decided to pick one that was generic so we would not need to worry if it is a boy or girl.
Don't worry, I figured out how to girlify it by adding pink, bows, flower, etc. I enjoyed making the car seat canopy until it came to the handles. It was a little tricky with the handles being crocked. Anyone who knows me, knows I figure out things the hard way.
Last, but no least. I made cute shoes for our future baby. It all started when 4 ladies at work announced they were pregnant with girls around the say time. 1 due in April, 2 due in May and 1 in June. So, I had some other staff help me throw a combined baby shower for the 4 of them. I made each a pair of booties. I am so addicted to shoes for myself and children, that our poor child will have more pairs of shoes then she will know what do with. I know shoes are unnecessary for babies, but who can resist when they are so cute.
Here is the website that I got the pattern from

Adoption update: We have officially transferred our information to A Act of Love. We have been busy collecting paperwork and taking required classes. In case you didn't catch on, we have told them we would like a girl, because I will be totally obsessed with making her look cute. Hopefully we hear something by this summer. Keep us in your prayers please!

Creations

We always have projects and creations to work on. I love creating new things. I enjoy seeing what my time and effects create. Here are a few of my most recent creations.
1. I have finished 3 more quilt tops. I still need to get them quilted. I usually have my friend from my old ward quilt them with her long arm quilter, but Levi's grandma is going to teach me how to hand quilt this Spring. I am so excited to learn.
This quilt will hang on the wall in Levi's office.

I think this one will hang on the wall in my office at work.

This one will be a throw to use whenever I am cold or it will go in the nursery.

2. Last year Levi and I started a new tradition of hanging Christmas lights on our house together. This year we decided to add more lights. I am very afraid of heights, but I made myself climb the ladder and put lights on our roof. The scariest part is climbing down off the roof back onto the ladder. It's that first step that gets me every time.

Levi thought is was pretty funny that I was so scared. To make matters worse, he kept asking me to pose and smile for the camera. I just wanted to get down.

3. This one I owe to my Father in Heaven. It is amazing how the weather changes often and quickly. This was what my 20 minute drive home looked like. It was all white. The only thing you could see was a few feet of road and the car lights in front of you. I know you can't see much, but it was awesome. By the time I got home, ice had formed on my windshield wiper, lights and doors.
