It's Official!

Zoe's adoption is final today 10-8-10. We went to the courthouse and completed the final requirements to allow Zoe to be completely ours.

Waiting to go in the courtroom.

Grandma Joan joined us for the eventful day.

Our courtroom was W37
Our attorney and representation from the adoption agency.
Our Judge.
Yeah, Zoe's adoption is final.
This was a really neat experience. We were sworn in and asked questions. We shared our thoughts about Zoe and her adoption. This is a very special day we will remember forever and are excited to share with Zoe as she gets older.

Welcoming Zoe to the World

We arrived at the hospital at 10:45 am pacific time. We waited for her birthmother to arrive so we could meet her for the first time. Zoe's birthmom is the sweetest lady I will ever meet. We got along very well from the beginning and I am excited to share the details with Zoe as she grows. We all visited with each other until it was 1:45 pm when we ventured to the delivery room. We heard her first cry and it was so small and cute.

Getting ready to see Zoe's birth.

Zoe was born on Friday, April 2nd 2010 at 2:22 pm Pacific Time. She was 6lbs. 5oz. and 19 in. long.

Zoe's first bath. She was not a happy camper. However, she did calm herself quickly and apparently enjoys running her fingers through her hair. She also likes to suck her fingers, which according to her birthmom she did that in the womb as well.
Zoe getting fed and burped by daddy. Look at all her hair. It is thick black hair with a sight wave. She loved getting it washed and brushed.

Big News...

Our baby girl will be born on Friday, April 2, 2010. We are so excited to add a new addition to our little family. We have waited 5 years. She is 3/4 African American and 1/4 Hispanic. She is going to be beautiful. Her name will be Zoe, but we are still working on a middle name. We want it to be meaningful and a family name. Pictures will be coming soon.
Thank you to all our friends and family who have been praying for us and supporting us.
